This course is an overview of the many hazards drivers face each day as they travel on roads and highways. The course's goal is to give you a good understanding of the hazards and preventive measures you can take to prevent accidents.
Every day, almost 30 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes — that's one person every 50 minutes. These deaths have fallen by a third in the last three decades; however, drunk-driving crashes claim more than 10,000 lives per year. This course discusses the dangers of drunk driving and the ways you can protect yourself from drunk drivers.
You can’t drive safely if you’re impaired. That’s why it’s illegal everywhere in America to drive under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, opioids, methamphetamines, or any potentially impairing drug–prescribed or over the counter. We’ll focus on the common misconceptions about marijuana use and what you can do to make smarter choices to drive safely.
Distracted driving is dangerous, claiming 2,841 lives in 2018 alone. Among those killed: 1,730 drivers, 605 passengers, 400 pedestrians, and 77 bicyclists. In this course, you’ll learn about the hazardous behaviors and safe practices associated with distracted driving. Speeding endangers everyone on the road: In 2018, speeding killed 9,378 people. This course covers the dangers of speeding and why faster doesn’t mean safer.
Drowsy driving kills — it claimed 795 lives in 2017. Yet falling asleep at the wheel is preventable. In this course, you’ll learn about three factors commonly associated with drowsy-driving crashes and pick up some helpful tips to avoid falling asleep at the wheel.

This course was not designed to meet state defensive driving course (DDC) requirements. This course is intended for employees who will be utilizing cars and small vans from a company fleet of vehicles.
